Cheryl Warfield, CVAC Artistic Director

Cheryl Warfield, a professional opera singer with credits from Broadway to the Chicago Lyric and beyond has been a teaching artist in NYC public schools through the nonprofit organization Arts Horizons since 2000. She has partnered with the Bronx Opera, working with ESL students and seniors citizens since 2017. Cheryl was a founding member and producer for Amore Opera in Manhattan, where she trained child performers for stage productions. As founder and director of MORE Opera, she has produced and performed in concert performances of Verdi’s “Ernani,” “Il trovatore,” and “Aida,” Puccini’s “Tosca” directed by Anton Coppola, and olocaust survivor Harry Bialor’s “Masada.”

Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the Bernie Wohl Community Center's Community Arts program offers adults and youth opportunities to experience and participate in the arts through original and professional-caliber performing and visual arts events, as well as workshops, classes, lectures and partnerships with renowned arts organizations in New York City.

 

Community Arts events take place at the Bernie Wohl Center at Columbus Avenue and West 91st Street. The Center's versatile auditorium serves as a concert hall, theater in the round, dance performance space, art gallery and film venue.
