MORE Opera presents Lifting Our Voices: Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Black National Anthem "Lift Every Voice and Sing" on Manhattan's Lower East Side at St. Augustine of Hippo Episcopal Church, 290 Henry Street

on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 1:00 PM. This free concert celebrates the 125th anniversary through poems and music by brothers James Weldon Johnson and        J. Rosamond Johnson, featuring an historical narrative about their lives and achievements performed by community speakers, an intergenerational community chorus, and MORE Opera soloists conducted by MORE Opera founder and artistic director Cheryl Warfield.
